During the early phases of WWII, the German Ju87 Stuka was one of the most feared aerial weapons and it played a large role in the German Army's blitzkreig through Poland and western Europe. The Ju87B models were particularly active during the early phases of the Battle of Britain but the Luftwaffe quickly found that the Stuka was highly vulnerable in the face of determined fighter opposition.

North American's Mustang was one of the most important and effective of all fighter aircraft to serve during WWII. This kit represents the definitive P-51D which was used on long range escort duties in the Pacific and Europe. The success of the aircraft was the result of a happy accident when Rolls-Royce mated its Merlin engine with a P-51A airframe to produce an outstanding fighter which was the mount of many aces of the USAAF.

The aircraft served in all major theatres of the war and proved deadly to its adversaries in the hands of a skilled pilot. The highest scoring US ace, Major Richard Bong scored 40 victories over Japanese aircraft in various types of P-38.
